Kiss 2019 Goodbye in Style!

If there is one night to go all out and get heads to turn, it’s New Year’s Eve. And with that to say, the countdown to New Year has begun already!

Have you thought about what you are going to wear to the parties yet?

Whether you’re trying to dress to impress at your office party or look effortless at a friend’s get-together, dressing for the night without looking extra while also staying warm is a CHALLENGE!!

So, I wanted to share some outfit ideas that might help you when you look into your closet this week for something to wear. Keep scrolling!!

1. Festive, comfortable, and warm enough for the winters, a combination of basics from your wardrobe is a classic for a reason.

2. Nothing says “It’s New Year!!” like a chic sequin dress. Edge it up with a blazer, your favourite pair of stilettos or booties and matching accessories.

3. Winter means oversized cosy sweaters! Wearing a sweater as a dress with boots and a cute belt bag is my current favourite combo. It is dressy enough for a holiday party, yet casual enough to grab a cup of hot chocolate with your friends.

4. Live the party. Love the party. Be the party.

Change your short dresses for a metallic skirt and keep the new year glam alive.

Tip: Pair up shades of the same colour to create something beautiful.

5. Pleats, please! One-piece I have been looking forward to styling for the new year’s eve are the skirts.

Get a surprisingly effortless look by pairing your favourite skirt with a turtleneck, a top with statement sleeves, or even a sweater. Top it off with some accessories and boots for a little more oomph.

6. A blazer dress in winter looks undeniably sexy and the kind of outfit that is perfect for the festive season.

Tip: Try something fun for New Year look?
How about wearing the red blazer as a top and layer it with the pink one?

7. The perfect solution for those who hate sparkle is Leather.

Pair your leather pants with a lace blouse and a matching bralette underneath for a subtly sexy look. Complete the look with a pair of classic heels and accessories.

8. Jumpsuits are a great evening alternative if you’re not quite feeling a dress!

Not only the ensemble is incredibly easy to wear, but will also feel like a party game changer when coordinated with the right pair of stiletto and accessories.

9. That fancy matching set you have been saving for a special occasion? Now is the time to wear it!

There is no denying that matching co-ords look classy. And dressing head-to-toe in the same colour does not only saves your time but matching it up with the right accessories can bring out an elegant and flattering look!

I rounded up these 9 outfit ideas for New Year parties, to help you kiss 2019 goodbye in style!

Would love to hear from you guys how you liked these styles. Lemme know if you would try them out!

Stay tuned for the next one, till then be happy and keep slaying.

More love and positivity to you. ❤️

Kalakar Street – The Festive Edit

“Every brand has a story to tell and a story to sell.”

About six months ago, I planned to curate my own Pop-up Show ~ Kalakar Street. The basic idea to organise this event was to bring together artists from Art, Fashion and Lifestyle backgrounds under one roof to celebrate their work with like minded individuals.

With a line up of 16 exhibitors, a music performance and a poetry session, we came together for the first time on 21.09.2019 in Kolkata. We welcomed a lot of visitors but the event didn’t turn out as we expected due to major rainfall in the city that day.

But, I am grateful to everyone for showing faith on me at the first place. The experience brought a lot of lessons and learnings and new friends.

I’m really thankful to all the exhibitors for being a part of our First Edition and supporting us.

Also, a big thank you and a tight hug to everyone who donated their old clothes. You guys have really made someone’s day special!

Lastly, a Special Mention to –

Mukesh, team Unwritten Thoughts, team Pictophile, Golden Feathers Entertainment, friends and all the visitors who dropped in and graced this event with all the suggestions, ideas & most importantly your blessings.

I am grateful today and forever to have met you all. Thank you for being being a constant support.❤️

P.S. – All the lessons and learnings are noted down and the homework will be done carefully from our side. The next edition is going to be bigger & well planned!

Shades of Life

WHAT IS LIFE? WHY ARE WE HERE? WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF OUR EXISTENCE?

Like a shadow, these questions follow us through our lives even if we never turn around to see it. Every individual on this planet has different stories and different perspective towards life. For some, life is just for living, for some life is about art and for some life is all about love. And for me?

|| ज़िन्दगी एक सफ़र है सुहाना
यहाँ कल क्या हो किसने जाना ||

Life for me is UNCERTAIN! Why? Because uncertainty leaves room for the unexpected.

I’m sure whoever is reading this will relate this post in some of the other way. I’m not sure what I want to convey, but it’s just me trying to express myself because of a lot of different experiences that I’m going through simultaneously. Currently, at this stage of my life, everything is changing every day, making it little uncomfortable and sometimes unfair. I know this change is for the betterment, despite what I feel at the moment. But, the past few months have been really tough!

For the people of my age or in their twenties the only conversation that tends to come up socially or at home is where are we headed to?

There comes a time where at one point, we all have to learn that these youthful endeavors have to end eventually. We start increasing our independence by meeting decisions of our own, but we also have to accept the responsibility that comes with it. It is time during which we go out to explore the world; challenge ourselves and strive to gain our own understanding of life. Most importantly, we have the courage to discover who we really are. We start to experiment with new possibilities. We want to learn what separates us from others. The desire to explore life increases our willingness to take the risk. Naturally, while attempting to integrate these elements in life we make mistakes, learn from them and continue with something else.
At best, we completely break free from the dependency on other people’s approval and learn to approve of ourselves.

However, we quickly and sometimes painfully – have to discover everything that we’re not good at. We discover our weaknesses and are confronted with our failures. But, in terms of our personal growth, it isn’t such a bad thing to be confronted with these things.
We start to realize that many of the activities we’ve enjoyed for so long, do no longer provide us with any significant returns. And slowly, but surely we are taught to use our independence in a responsive manner.

But, in life these things don’t always make sense to you.. you wonder what it is that you did wrong or could do better when you’re confronted with your weaknesses. You are always trying to think about the situation that has occurred in your life and the reasons for it, trying to connect the dots.

We all go through these moments when we’re shit scared and forced to think of how miserable we are. When all you can think about are your failures, mistakes, encounters with bad people & bad moments. When rather facing the world we choose to stay in our nutshell, where it’s safe and nothing wrong happens! And I know, these failures leave a crack in you and makes you feel low and want you to disconnect from this world.

But, sometimes what we don’t realize is that Cribbing & Self Pity is easy. Doing the work and putting in efforts to see the good side of life, that’s what is tough.

Life is made for messing up over and over again, but getting up anyway. Life is made for failing and surviving. Life is made for discovering something new every now and then. Life is made for heartbreaks and new loves that erases all of that pain in your heart. Life is for believing in love even after you have been broken. It’s all about feeling motivated again and feeling good about yourself.

Your life is given to you to live, to love and to find out what joy is. Isn’t it?
