The life of the mind 3.0

Hey beautiful!

Starting my post with an apology. I know I have been away from my blog for quite some time now and also from my social media, not out of choice but for something unexpected that happened. Life is unpredictable, you never know what’s coming your way. A lot had been happening since a month or two but then I couldn’t let my hard work and all your love to go on a waste.

Since this is my last post on college look let me just tell you why I chose this title for my college post. Any guesses?

Okay! The life of the mind as the title says we have always wanted to live a life that we have thought of, from school to college a lot of things change. Sitting with our group we all have discussed and fantasized about the life we want as a teenager. And as a fresher there is always excitement among girls entering into college in the best way they can. I have been there, and I know what it feels like. Being in the last year of my graduation I can count in what I have actually gained and lost in the past two years. So I wanted to share few things with you all that will be helpful for you to get through this phase with your smile emoticon.

1. Always choose comfort over style.

2. Do tag along a watch because you can’t always pull out your phones amidst the boring lectures if and when you attend.

3. Wearing heels and climbing up to sixth floor can be tiring. Choose flip flops, ballerinas and shoes over heels.

4. Carry a medium sized bag so you have a hands-free travel.

5. Focus on your life and career goals, always.

6. Keep your own life, happiness, and career above everyone and everything.
Coming to the look, I keep adding various flavours to myself as I firmly believe that variety is the spice of life and no matter how many western outfits we own and wear, there is nothing more comfortable and elegant as an ethnic outfit. The most endearing quality of an Indian woman would perhaps be the range of apparels that she adorns. So for my third look I chose a simple kurta and leggings (the most comfortable piece that I have in my wardrobe) and completed the look with a statement earrings and some bangles. I have kept the look as simple as I could. But there’s always a room for experimenting your outfit as ethnic comes in vibrant colour, patterns and designs. The kurtas, casual or chic, paired with churidar, pants, patiala, leggings, salwar or jeans are as hot and happening as it gets. Make sure you have a diverse collection of kurtas based on fabric and style.

I hope this blog helped you solve all your problems. (If you happen to miss out on my last two blogs on college look you can read them : here and here.) And if there’s still something on your mind do let me know, I’ll surely help you with that. Don’t forget to write your thoughts and suggestions below in comments section. All the best beautiful and do enjoy your college days.

The life of the mind 2.0

Hey beautiful!

I hope you enjoyed my last post and if you happened to miss it, then go give it a read Now.
So I’m back again with the second look for all you new college-bees. Yes, I did get carried away last time but don’t worry I won’t blabber a lot today.

Since it’s always comfort over style, I grabbed some basic pieces and put them together. Staple blue and white is the most easiest and simple outfit. Just wear something blue and white, like blue ripped denim, without which a college wardrobe would be incomplete; a white tee and maybe a cute fancy pair of flat sandals or flip flop. But you need something that stands out and makes the simple outfit look à la mode. Right? And for that you can throw on a light weight check shirt or a denim jacket for an add on element of colour to the look. Although the weather doesn’t demand a warmer outfit, most of the college have air conditions and if you’re someone who feels a little extra chill just like me this will work the best, trust me!

Missing out something? A bag and a watch! A girl without a bag is something we can’t even imagine. Isn’t it? We girls have a lot to carry be it books, our essentials and what not. And a cute backpack is what we need at that moment. And don’t forget to tag along a watch, because you can’t always pull out your phones amidst the lectures. Last but the most important thing, apologies for not keeping up my promise. But I do have another one lined up for coming week. Until then stay happy and don’t forget to tell me how you found this post.

Ripped jeans : B.K. Market

The life of the mind 1.0

Hey beautiful!

I hope you have been doing well. It’s August already! I still can’t believe that half a year is over and guess what it’s the time when we start preparing for the new college year to begin. You’re about to live the life you have always thought of, the life that you have discussed with your friends when you were in school. Yes! You’re about to switch from ‘Bata to Catwalk’, from those ‘boring school uniforms to colourful outfits’. Exciting, isn’t it? But with all this you are about to make a shift from friendly school to rude college. The school has its share of tormentors and creeps but trust me, college is another fiend. College plays a vital role in one’s life, in shaping and exploring the inner self of a person, by letting you connect to the world in a different way. People here will be more envious, more judgemental and more fake though exceptions are always there. There will be people with every materialistic thing better; better clothes, better bags, better shoes, better mobiles. And to be honest, it will hit you in gut, at first. But darling, never feel inferior, because you’ve something that others don’t. You have the personality. You’ve the brain.  You’ve the words. You’ve the aura. And about beauty, well, I know how you look will matter more now. Don’t try to be their kind of beautiful because they don’t know what real beauty is. Beauty is how perfect you’re in your imperfections. Materialistic things shine, but inner beauty glitters more than gold.

Coming back to where I was, when thinking of putting outfits together for College, while keeping in mind the dressing code, weather and also looking cute we all have faced the dilemma of, “What should I wear?” or “How should I carry myself?” So here is a small solution for all you beautiful ladies. Being a college student, I have always kept myself simple yet eye-catching (Well personally I love to be so.) *silly smile*

Today I have put together a look that you could wear to college that will not only be comfortable, but really fun and stylish too! I have paired a slouchy tee (fbb – India’s Fashion Hub) with a high-waisted denim and a pair of sneakers. To elevate the look, I wore a scarf (picked up from new market – Kolkata) as a headband and got everything together by adding a fastrack watch. Complete the ensemble with a cute backpack and you’re all ready to go.

I’d love to know how you people liked this outfit. And I’m sure it will be a hoot and heed for more college look. So I’m hoping to do more of this now. Coming up with a new look soon. Until then stay perfect in your imperfections. And don’t forget to subscribe and write your thoughts on this look below in the comments section.
Much love! 😘
